Programs include:
Movie & a Meal* Come out for Friday nights for homemade food, fellowship and fun. New release and inspirational films are screened after dinner - fall through spring.
Roll Call Turkey Dinner* What began years ago as a fundraiser during lean times has become an enduring Island tradition. A turkey dinner with all the fixings is served to commemorate the annual reading of the church membership rolls in the fall. Spring and Fall Festivals Before and after our busy season, Harbor Church celebrates our year-round community with an outdoor family event. Children’s crafts, pony rides, face-painting, tug-o-war and other lawn games are just some of the activities you will find here, as well as plenty of great food and live music! Celebration of Nature Service* This is another wonderful opportunity to come together for worship in a spirit of unity. No matter what our faith tradition, we express our connection as children of God and celebrate the beauty of all creation and our shared responsibility to care for our world. (Sponsored by the Block Island Ecumenical Ministries Group). Blessing of the Mounts* An annual prayer for our equestrian community for a safe riding season and for the health of our horses and farms. International Student Center Summer student workers from around the world enjoy a cultural exchange program through a weekly free dinner on Tuesday evenings. Our recreation room is open several nights a week where young adults can relax in an alcohol-free environment and enjoy our facilities. Pool table, ping pong, video games, TV, and a small kitchen for meal preparation are available. Teen Programs Weekend nights during the school year the New Shoreham Recreation Department offers programming for young people in our recreation room. Annual Auction & Tag Sale* Affectionately known as Tony’s Treasures, donations are received in the late spring for an early summer sale on the church lawn. Community Holiday Tree Lighting* Families from all over the Island gather together at Christmastime to observe the annual lighting of the tree on church property. Children get an early chance to see Santa! Spring & Fall Equinox Bonfires We observe the changing of the seasons with a beach party to watch the sunset and welcome a new season with snacks and songs around the fireside. Holiday Market Christmas and Chanukah homemade crafts and foods are offered in an indoor market. Helping Hands Food Pantry Groceries are provided free of charge from fall through spring (a ministry of St. Ann’s hosted by Harbor Church) First Responders Celebration* We honor our Police, Fire and Rescue Teams after the close of the busy season (Sponsored by the Block Island Ecumenical Ministries Group).
